Thursday 4/7 -Fantasy

1. You board a train and discover you have the choice of sitting next to the main character or another character in the book. With whom would you choose to talk? Why? What would you like to ask the character? What would you tell him or her? (Remember, you do not need to choose the most admirable character.)

2. Please respond to a fellow classmate's ideas about their book and text connections.

  1. Of all of the characters in the book HUNGER GAMES, I would choose to sit next to Cinna. Cinna's clever design and bedazzeling dress caused me to be in awe. I would ask him where his inspiration came from for the "Girl on Fire" dress and why he had "chosen" to be the designer for District 12, when most people steer clear of that district because of its coal mining background. I would tell Cinna that I thought he was a genius and was one of the main reasons Katniss got so many votes that night at the Opening Ceremony Interviews. I would also love to ask him to help me become a fashion designer , as that would be one of my dream jobs!

Out of all the characters in the book SWORD OF THE RIGHTFUL KING I would choose to sit and talk to Gawaine, the main character in the story, because of his personality. He is just like any 18 year olds because he is uncertain of his future and from time to time I'm not sure about my next move. Gawaine's mom, Queen of Orkney, wants her oldest son (Gawaine) to succeed her as King of Orkeney. I would ask him why he has a strong fear of ruling as a king and how does it feel to have a bunch of brothers/sisters since I am an only child. I know that in the story as he is going to Cadbury by boat, his arrogant little brother named Agravaine started having a fit because of him getting sea sick, complaining for everything, and threatening to whip his other brother for no appearent reason. They talk about Agravaine earlier whiping his servant,so he is capeable of whiping his other brother.

  3. out of the many characters in this book (Tuck Everlasting) I would probably choose to sit by the main character Winnie. She seems cool in the book and her names also Winnie. Like Winnie the Pooh, thats just G. Anyways in the book shes curious about the world and wonders alot. So she would probably talk about some pretty cool stuff. I would probably tell her she was somewhat G. Like i don't no much about her but she seems nice. I would also like ask her to go on a adventure with me like we could walk threw a forest or the mall... :)

  4. In the story of water Tales of Elemental Spirits, I would choose to sit next to Pitiable because she is the only mermaid who experiences the mermaid life longer than Charity and Proberty. Pitiable lost her parents at a very young age, she came across Charity and Proberty to teach them the mermaid life of Elemental Spirits.

  5. If I could sit next to anyone on my book I would have to sit next to Austin because I am kinda going through what he is going through. With his parents divorced and them always fighting. I would ask him how he met Macey. If I could tell him anything it would be that sometimes i would want to live with a relative, maybe my uncle or grandparents. Supriseingly they are divorced too.

  6. The character in the book DRAGON'S KEEP that i would like to sit next to is not a person, its a dragon. There's no name given to this ruthless beast, but its referred to in the book as "The Dragon".Its power and ability to fly "dazzled me",and made me want to sit next to it. Its a good thing that the dragon in this book can speak over 60 languages including English,so there wont be any trouble for me trying to communicate with it. I would ask The Dragon if he had any relatives that are still alive. I would alsoi ask the dragon, how old is he and how long does an average dragon live. I would tell my scaly friend that, "Eating people is not good, and that instead of eating people you could eat sheep and/or cows that are not owned by sheperds or farmers."

  8. With any of the characters in my book GREGOR THE OVERLANDER, I would sit next to Luxa. Luxa is impossible near people she is not used to underground. But, with her ignorance I would still want to talk to her on the subway because I would want to tell her that overlanders are not different from each other ,so we should just get along. I would also tell her that if she wants respect she should give other people respect.

  9. 1.If, in my book the Return Ticket I winded up sitting next to my character Zak, on the train I would ask him the following questions. How was it to go back in time and if you had the choose to do it another time would it be with the same people? The reason why is I have for a wile bin interested in time travel. I would want him for one reason, he is interesting. I would talk to him about going with him the next time. That's what I would talk to him about.

  11. There are many fantastic and important characters in the book I am reading HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN. The one I would choose to sit next to is Harrys uncle Vernon. I picked him because the sterio type you would think he would treat Harry more respectful and care for him more considering his parents died from The Dark Lord Voldemort himself, but the strange uncle is the complete oppisite of caring! so i would like to discuss that with him and why he treats harry potter the way he does.

The character I would choose in my book ACCELERATION to sit next to is the main character whos name has not been mentioned yet. In the book this character mentions a summer day at the beach. He talks about swimming and having fun but then says something about a girl. He says that he saw the girl fighting for air and heard her screaming at the top of her lungs. He went over to the girl but she goes under the water never to be seen again. He said he felt terrible ever since. I would ask him what happened to the girl and why he was not able to save her. Also i would tell him that it was not his fault that this situation has happened

  14. 1. Id choose to sit next to the main character, Jeffery. This is because everyone else in the book is either rascist or weird. So ya. I'd probably ask him what its like to live with buffaloes (because he did live with them) and what its like to have the whole town spread unrealistic rumours about him.

  15. I would sit next to Nita's sister in DEEP WIZARDRY and ask her why she tortures her sister. She always forces Nita to tell her everything. She makes Nita's life horrible if she finds out that Nita was hiding something from her. This could mean that she just wants Nita and her to be close. However, this doesn't explain why she does this to other people as well. In conclusion, I would ask her why she does this.
